Sanity AI Content Management
Managing Sanity content with an assistant means describing the change you want instead of clicking through an admin screen. What that amounts to depends entirely on what Sanity exposes, so this page lists what is within reach and what is not.
What can be managed on Sanity
These are the capabilities Sanity’s own interface makes possible. Each still has to be verified against a live installation before it is sold as working:
- Read content
- Create content
What cannot
These are not available on Sanity. The reason is the platform’s own interface, not a feature we have left out, and each is listed so you can see which:
- Edit content
- Publish content
- Schedule content
- Manage images and files
- Manage categories and tags
- Custom content types
What the platform does not allow
Creating documents works; editing existing ones does not yet. Sanity patches a Portable Text body in a way that has not been exercised against a real project, and claiming it before then would be claiming something untested.
Nothing goes live without you
New work is created unpublished wherever Sanity allows it, and publishing is always a separate, deliberate step. An assistant cannot put half-finished text in front of your visitors, because the product does not expose a path that would let it.
Everything above describes what Sanity’s interface offers. None of it is marked verified yet, which in this product means exercised against a live installation with the date recorded.
Common questions
Does this replace the Sanity admin?
No. It sits alongside it. Everything done through an assistant appears in Sanity exactly as if you had done it yourself, and you can carry on working in the admin whenever you prefer.
Can it edit documents that already exist on Sanity?
Not on Sanity. Its interface allows creating documents but not changing ones that already exist, so editing is not offered here rather than attempted and failed.
Where does the work show up?
In Sanity itself, exactly as if you had done it by hand. There is no separate copy of your content here, and nothing stops working if you cancel.
